Dublin is known as one of the most progressive communities in Central Ohio. Through well-managed growth, the city has preserved its historic past - early 19th century architecture and limestone fences border the roads, and many original buildings are listed in the National Register of Historical Places. In the 1970's, Dublin changed from a rural village to a suburban center because of the development of the Muirfield Village Golf Club/residential community and the completion of the I-270 outer belt. The city, about 20 minutes from downtown Columbus, boasts 38 parks, surrounds the Scioto River, and as of 2005, had a median age of 36-45 years and average home price of $347,633.
